Born in 1940, Dr Hösel studied Chemistry at the University of Jena, Measuring and Control Technology at the Technical College of Jena as well as Management at the Technical University of Merseburg. He was awarded his doctorate by the Academy of Sciences of Berlin.
Dr Hösel has many years’ management experience in a number of leading positions in the pharmaceutical industry including Research & Development Director at Jenapharm, Head of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Development of Schering AG (Jena), as well as in project management of research, development and construction projects in the former Soviet Union, Bulgaria, England, the USA and Mexico. Dr Hösel runs his own pharmaceutical and chemical business consultancy.

Gerhard Strugala, born in 1950, majored and received his doctorate at the Ruhr-Universität-Bochum in the field of physiology / pharmacology. In 1988 he habilitated in pharmacology and toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität of Munich and has since been teaching as an adjunct professor.
He has more than 25 years of experience in executive positions in the pharmaceutical industry and is a specialist for business and product development as well as internationalisation. Since the beginning of 2014 he has been working as an independent consultant. He started his career at the Merckle Group, he was a co-founder of EuroAlliance, Chief Executive Officer of a Japanese-German joint venture and, as a member of the Executive Committee, was responsible for the global portfolio management at Biochemie, Kundl (Austria). From August 2000 he has been significantly responsible for setting up and extending the range of products as well as for the out-licensing of the top product as a division manager and member of the management board of Apogepha.
He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Department of Pharmacy of the Philipps-Universität of Marburg as well as a member of the supervisory board of Cultus gGmbH of the City of Dresden.

Born in 1956, Dr Wilhelm studied Biology and Chemistry at the University of Düsseldorf where he was awarded his PhD. Later he gained an MBA from the University of Liverpool. He began his career in the German Pharma industry (Grünenthal/Schwarz Pharma) and held several Senior Management positions in Drug and Medical Device development and Biotechnology. In October 2009 he joined the BD team of HauptPharma with key responsibilities in contract development and out-licensing. Recently he changed his business focus to support the BD team of Piramal.

Dr Holger Bengs, born in 1963, is founder and managing director of BCNP Consultants GmbH in Frankfurt. Founded in 2002, this interdisciplinary consulting company specializes in Biotech, Chemistry, Nanotech and Pharma and offers expert knowledge, services and network support in company formations, financing, innovation and business development. Before that, Dr Bengs worked as managing director for GoingPublic Media focusing on stock exchange reporting in the Life Science industry, for example in the yearly edition “Biotechnology” which he co-founded. He started his career in central research at Hoechst AG with the development of drug delivery systems and as project manager for bio-catalysis at Aventis. He studied chemistry in Hannover and Mainz and economics in Hagen.

Born in 1940, Dr Maaß studied at the Technical University of Dresden where he was awarded a doctorate specialising in process technology. He has held leading positions at Linde AG including the heading-up of its pharmaceutical plants. Under his management, he implemented large-scale projects for major pharmaceutical enterprises at home and abroad in the fields of galenics, manufacture of active ingredients and genetic engineering. Dr Maaß has his own engineering company and is presently working in a consultative capacity for the innovation management of Linde AG.

Born in 1965, Merle Fuchs studied Biology at the Universities of Göttingen, Tübingen, Braunschweig (Germany) and Wageningen (The Netherlands). She was awarded her doctorate from the Max Planck Institute of biophysical Chemistry (Göttingen) at the lab of Nobel laureate Prof. Manfred Eigen and at the Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA, USA). Merle Fuchs is cofounder of six innovative companies. In addition, she has significant experience in corporate governance, is member of an experts board at the Federal Ministry of Economics as well as several other boards and steering committees. In addition she is an accredited coach of the High-Tech Gründerfonds and the KfW. In 2000 she founded her own consultancy firm –TechnologieContor – specializing in the financing and developing of knowledge-based companies.
